TEXT: 1JOHN 2:15
” Love not the world, neither the
things that are in the world.
If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. “
What you love takes high priority in your heart; this is because you
are always thinking about it. It might even be someone in your life. The bible
made us to know from our text that we are not to love the world. How can this
be? Is God telling us not to love the world? Actually what we are not to love are
not the people of this world but the things of this world; pride and lust of
all kinds. When you are chasing pride, you forget God because, to please God,
you cannot be proud. Proverbs 16:5 says “Every one that is proud in heart is
an abomination to the LORD: though
hand join in hand, he shall not
be unpunished.” God does not like proud people. When you are
acquiring possessions just to be able to show off and be proud to people, there
is a very great tendency of you forgetting about God, so watch.
In 1John 2:15-17, we are made to
know by the bible that; all the things of this world shall pass away, only
those that do the will of God will abide forever, it is actually possible to
live forever in the presence of God. No one can live forever in this world, the
world is just so temporal, whatever you have in this world is for only the
short while you will spend on earth.
There is eternal joy in the
presence of God for those that will love Him and do His will always, also there
is eternal damnation for those that will not do His will, there will be
continuous sorrow and pains.
If you have never accepted Jesus
the only Son of God into your life, this is an opportunity for you to do so
today, tomorrow might just be too late. Please click here
to say a prayer.
